Build True Financial Freedom With Leverage Not Labour

For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt deeply disillusioned by the system we were all told to trust.

Go to school. Graduate. Get a job. Boom—financial freedom.

But here’s the thing:

  • My dad had a degree. Still complained about money.
  • My professors had doctorates. Still broke.
  • Everyone around me, same story. Degrees on the wall. Empty pockets.

The math didn’t add up. So I dropped out. Fast forward almost two decades. The education system hasn’t changed much.

Leverage over labour

When you graduate with your degree, the only leverage you have initially is your time. So you give all of it. 80hrs a week, for as long as possible.

And that’s okay, but It’s the weakest form of leverage and should only be your first step towards financial freedom.

Exchanging your time for money won’t give you freedom.

This is true whether you’re earning $20/hr or $200/hr. Your income is still chained to your hours. And you only have so many.

Don't believe me? - Do the Math

Say you’re in your 30s. You’ve got maybe 50 years left to live.

But you want to retire at 60, so you have roughly 30yrs left.

We know that we sleep 1/3 of our lives. So of that 30yrs, 10yrs is spent sleeping.

And we also have to live life, there’s basic activities like cooking and eating our meals, time spent commuting, hobbies, time with family etc… That’s another 1/3 or 10yrs.

If the goal was to retire at 60yrs – You have 10 more years of deep work possible in this lifetime or 3,650 days left to work.

💡 So it’s misguided to think “if I work hard enough at my job, put in more hours, I’ll earn more and gain financial freedom.”

The real game is leverage

People who become free, achieve freedom by learning to leverage more than just their time/labour.

They leveraged other things like capital, in form of their own savings, loans, investment funds etc… And they deployed this capital into investments and tools that earned more for them without needing their time.

If you made it this far. Buy my course, it’s only 2999 ZAR. 😂

Important: The image above was to draw your attention to this message. Never buy courses on how to make money online. It’s almost always a scam.

Why Tarlen exists today

We built Tarlen because we understand that not everyone has a big saving they could leverage. Not everyone has access to credit lines, or other people’s money they could invest. And not everyone can build a venture from scratch.

But there’s a chance you have a car and there’s a chance you don’t drive it too often.

With the car rental industry projected to double in size in the next 5 years, our mission is to get car owners earning and growing a business or passive income stream with carsharing.

We want our car owners to be a part of the massive growth happening in the car rental/tourism industry next decades.

💡 “We want car owners in South Africa to benefit from the massive growth happening in the car rental/tourism industry in the next decade.”

All without quitting their jobs or excessively disrupting their lives.

But this isn't just about carsharing, it's about leverage

Carsharing just happens to be one of the doorways that Tarlen champions.

💡 Even if carsharing isn’t your thing, remember this: If your income is still tied to your time, your freedom has an expiry date.

So look around. What can you leverage right now, to buy back your time?

There’s opportunities everywhere:

#1 - Start a business

When you start a business and hire people into your business, your earning capacity expands past how much time you have as an individual to the combined input/strength of your team.

#2 - Personal brand

If done right, your personal brand is a great leverage that opens you up to immense opportunities for partnerships and exponential influence.

#3 - Art/music/Intellectual property(IP)

As a creator, you create once and earn forever as long as it’s valuable enough.

And so much more…

So, what can you leverage today?
